Since 2017, the Maldives Underwater Initiative (MUI) has supported Six Senses Laamu through long-term monitoring of sharks, rays, dolphins, turtles, and other keystone species critical to ecosystem function and socio-economic value in the Maldives. These species support biodiversity, local livelihoods, and evidence-based conservation and management.

In 2023, MUI partnered with eOceans® as its data science and nature intelligence platform, enabling consistent, automated data processing across the team, partners, and program.
